To multiply fractions, you multiply across in both numerators and denominators.

To divide one fraction by another, it is the same as multiplying the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction.
[tex] \frac{ \frac{a}{b} }{ \frac{c}{d} } = \frac{a}{b}* \frac{d}{c} [/tex]
To add and subtract fractions, first make the fractions have the same denominators. Then add or subtract the numerators. The denominators stay the same.
[tex] \frac{a}{b}+ \frac{c}{b}= \frac{a+c}{b} [/tex]
