depending on how much numbers or variables you have is the way you can identify how many terms there is, for example in here we have 2 sets of terms this means this is classified as a binomial
Bi means 2 mono means 1 tri means 3 and poly means many
when u have only 1 terms for example 3x that is a monomial if you have 2 like in this case its a binomial if you had 3 for example 3x+5y+8 that is a trinomial because it has 3 terms but if you have 3x^2+7x+1 you now have a polynomial because the x its set to the 2 power
