I believe the answer is: Stop lines

When we are passing intersection in  high speed, we often cannot see the vehicles that come from other part of the intersection, which increase the likelihood of collisions. Because of this, stop lines are created to make sure that the drivers at least slow down their vehicles to ensure that they are save to cross the intersections./
