The answer is choice D. If you look on the map. Rob’s friend can’t take any other route than the one Rob gave him. Because the school is across a river from Rob’s house. And the there is only one route with a bridge

Of all the landmarks on the map, only the drugstore was close to the bridge that Rob's friends could take on their way to his house.

The drugstore which was on the same axis as Rob's school was also the only shop that anyone could pass on the route from the school to the house.

So, Rob had to include the drugstore in the map.
