Choose a foreign place in a different part of the world and discuss how globalization affects the lives or people in that place. In some places for example there are relatively minimal global connections; in other places the forms of connections vary greatly. For example, in many island environments, global connections may appear in the form of tourism; in other locations, it may appear as export-processing zones.

North Korea is one of the countries least affected by globalization, as its international relations are very few and have little national and international impact. This happens for several reasons, but the main one is that globalization and global connections are direct fruits of capitalism. As North Korea kept itself away from all capitalist elements, global connections and processes of globalization stayed away from the country.

Although global relations in North Korea are scarce, we can say that they exist, as there are around 25 foreign embassies in the country, such as the embassies of Brazil, Germany, Austria, Romania, Italy, among others.
