Could USSR defeat Nazi Germany without the help of Allies, given that D-Day happened in June 1944, long after the Soviets turned the tide of the war with battles of Stalingrad and Kursk and were now on the offensive.
The Battle of Moscow also reminds us of a truth that many Americans do not know: It was the Soviet Union that made by far the biggest contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany. And between 1941 and 1945, it was the Soviets who fought most of the German military and inflicted most of the German casualties.
