I stand up for native people. I stand up for them because we have occupied their lands and disrespected them throughout the years, killing them, indoctrinating them, and discriminating against them due to their different beliefs and lifestyle. They need the support of every person so that they have the same rights, respect, and justice that the rest of the citizens have.
There are many things that a person can stand up for that often has no voice; some examples are:
- Inmigrants
- Trans people
- Black people
- Native people
In all the cases, they suffer discrimination, injustices, lack of equal opportunities, and violent situations due to the stereotypes or the lack of information that society has regarding these groups of people. Standing up for any of them is a way to show support and help them so that society fairly treats them.
In conclusion, we can stand up for many causes that do not have a voice. In this case, standing up for native people helps to show the damage that we have caused to them. Also, it helps in the fight for their rights, which applies to any of the other mentioned cases.
