My feelings about Grendel changed from seeing him as a creature to be feared to an individual.

Initially, Grendel is presented as a monster, a creature of sin that one has to afraid of and an antagonist. As the story continues, we can see a personality change in him where he becomes more self reliant.

As the story progressed, Grendel is seen as an individual who is trying to communicate with humans whom he shares a language with. His inability to have people communicate with him made me pity his situation.
