The central idea which can be found in the Dark Game is that being a spy is dangerous.

  • The Dark Game contained stories relating to spies. The author explained how spies were important in the country.

  • It should be noted that during the Civil war, spies didn't have any professional network but this eventually changed. Elizabeth was a spy and she had to take several risks in order to be able to gather information and send them to the union lines.

Therefore, the book showed the danger in being a spy.
