The human cells resulting from meiotic division differ significantly from the cells resulting from mitotic division because :
Mitosis produces two diploid (2n)somatic cells that are genetically identical to each other and the original parent call,
whereas the meiosis produces four haploid (n) gametes which are genetically different from each other and the original parent cell as they are germ line cells.
Difference between mitosis and meiosis :
