What did China and Japan agree upon, despite having many differences in their approach to modernization and western imperialism? Only war against the British Empire could stop the advance of Western imperialism. Western domination was bad for their governments, economies, and citizens. There was nothing that could be done to rid themselves of Western influence. The best way to defend themselves was to build enormous military forces.
