Essay on Money: The concept of money was invented somewhere in 5000 B.C by a few traders in Western Europe. Ever since the invention, different countries have adopted it and started printing their own money with specific values, which was usually backed by gold. But before money was invented, trading used to happen with a system called a barter system, where you could buy one product or service with an exchange of another product.

This is basically a brief history of money.

For centuries, money has been, gradually, incorporated into every corner of our lives. Not to sound cliché, but the entire world runs on one simple thing called money. Thanks to those traders hundreds of years back, our lives now entirely revolve around the man-made concept of money.

I pick money because no matter how much you want to depend on the person you love, they can always let you down. Love doesn't mean anything if it ends in hate. Money doesn't let you down, you can be happy without love. Money symbolizes secureness and happiness, and to most extent money does provide those things.  

Money gives you the freedom to make your own decisions and do what you want. 50% of marriages end in divorce. Why pick love just to get stabbed in the back by the person you loved the most? Heartbreak is one of the worst diseases you can have. And if you chose love over money, you might not be able to make sure your love is happy and secure.

Money is very important because there is no chance of love if you don't have the money to make sure the person you love is safe. And you don't need a significant other to be happy. You can make yourself happy. You need money to maintain your happiness and security.  

That is why I chose money over love. Love can always betray you, money can't. Money can also give you freedom and independence to do what you love and want. And you do not need love to be happy.
