Because dog B pulls to South-East we can write its force as a vector:

Such that:

[tex]\sqrt{f^2 + (-f)^2} = 20N\\\\\sqrt{2}*f = 20N\\\\f = 20N/\sqrt{2} = 14.14N[/tex]

Then the diagram has two forces:

  • for dog A: F = (0, 10N)
