Inca Wayna Capac died of Smallpox around 1527. He was the ruler of the
Inca Empire between 1493- 1525.
Wayna Capac traveled to the North region of Quito. He contracted the
disease known as smallpox. The disease came from Europe through
Spanish travelers . This was the period with high prevalence in which
millions of people were killed.
Although the vaccine was later made around 1977 , Inca Wayna Capac
died around 1527.
