The sand will appear as one cloudy part and sink to the bottom of the glass of water. The sand has pressure on it from the water. The sand will not dissolve. It will gain pressure and then the sand will stay as one big cloud. It will then sink to the bottom. The pressure of the water will not let the sand go all over the glass.
