The chapter one of the narrative begins with the narration of Jean Finch who is popularly known as Scout as she talks about the arm injury that her elder brother had and the general circumstances of the Finch family.
She is the author of the book and writes about Atticus Finch who is a white lawyer who does not bow to racism as he faces pressures while representing a black man which was unheard of that time.
With this in mind, we can see that Harper Lee is a good author who has good diction and makes use of vivid descriptions to highlight how rife racism was and how the blacks were mistreated.
