  • He has his phone and wallet stolen while he is standing outside the bar.
  • An acquaintance offers him a ride a home, which he accepts.
  • The acquaintance's wife calls him and says she is giving birth. He heads to the hospital with your character.
  • The acquaintance faints, and your character is the one who stays in the delivery room to support the woman.
  • When your character finally arrives home, he realizes he went out on a Thursday night rather than a Friday.

To write this type of story, try to think of events as you would think of a chain - one event is linked to the other. Think of the first thing that could go wrong and then of what else could happen because of that first thing.
