Columbian Exchange: The Columbian Exchange was the result of the Commercial Revolution. Once the Commercial Revolution pushed the European Powers to discover new land, these new colonies had several goods that were not available anywhere else in the world, especially in Europe. This started the Columbian Exchange, which is the exchange of animals, plants, food, and people between the American Continent with Europe.
Atlantic Slave Trade: As the Colonies developed during the Commercial Revolution, the demand for more and more goods became more and more each year. European Powers needed to expand more and more since it represented influence and power. To do so, these powers needed cheap labor. Once the Portuguese reached Africa and started colonies there, they saw in the African Continent a good source of cheap or slave labor. With that, the Atlantic Slave Trade started between the African Continent and the Americas.
Commercial Revolution: The Commercial Revolution was a revolution that changed the world and made it was it is today. During that period the importance and power of a country were based on its wealth. Countries began to expand their commerce between Europe, the Middle East and Asia (it all began with the crusades). But soon European powers noticed that they needed new places to explore and started to sail further away to Asia. In one of the trips to Asia, one explorer took the wrong turn and discovered a new land which was the American Continent. With this started a new period in the history of the world, now European Powers had colonies in the new world where they would explore, they would remove goods and explore the land to their own profits.
