I am not 100 percent sure but abe Lincoln was the one who tried to abolish slavery . He believed all people to be equal and they deserved to be free. He was a great president and eventually was assisinated for trying to do uphold the constitution and bill of rights. The way this country id ran it the constitution should have said all white men where create equal. And equality is still a problem today. I hope I helped you good luck
