"I’m down," replied Kara. "Let’s play horse and loser buys a round of pops for the rest of us. "


"Pops?!" exclaimed Justin. "I reckon that’s some sorta drink? Are y'all tryin' to say soda?"


"That’s right Justin, I keep forgetting you’re new around these parts," Andre joked. "Let’s see if this makes more sense to a Florida kid. I’m fixin’ to whoop y’all at basketball and then enjoy the nice cool soda that you’ll buy me. "


"Fair enuf’" replied Justin, "I’m ready to show you Michigan kids what’s good!"

Answer: Justin isn't used to how other people talk, such as people down south in Texas says Howdy, but for us we don't use that if we don't live down there. Justin uses slang that HE knows, but he doesn't understand different slang because he's not used to hearing it differently.
