bow street runners i think

Answer:

Bow street runners

Explanation:

The Bow Street Runners was the name by which the existing police force was popularly known in London, United Kingdom, between 1749 and 1838.

The body was created in 1749, shortly after the novelist and dramatist, Henry Fielding, was appointed magistrate of the Bow Street tribunal, next to Covent Garden, and decided to gather a small group of eight thief-takers, shortly afterwards known as the Bow Street Runners.

With the creation, in 1829, of the Metropolitan Police Force, at the request of Robert Peel, the two police forces coexisted until 1838, at which time the Marine Police and the Bow Street Runners were integrated into the body of the Metropolitan Police.
