The expression would look something like : T=2h-5
- I used T for "This month" but that's the dependent variable since it depends on "h"- also known as the independent variable- Since Nicholas worked five hours less than double our variable, you would first want to double the variable. Since you're just leaving this in the form of an equality & not plugging something in for h, you can't factor the negative five in so just throw it on after the 2h and you've got yourself the expression that represents the word problem above.
