Part 1-Civilizations:
On the map, outline all of the Asia and Africa (9 civilizations in all) civilizations studied in Module 8. Then, complete the map key by labeling and color-coding each of the 9 civilizations. (Outlining seems to work better than shading since so many of the civilizations overlap)

Part 2-Contributions:
1. Choose either Ancient Asia (dynasties from Module 8 only) or Ancient Africa.

2. Then, complete the contributions key chart. Here you will pick 5 contributions from that set of civilizations. The contributions do not all have to be from one civilization, but they do all need to be from one continent. The 5 contributions need to represent 5 of the 6 S.P.R.I.T.E areas.

* For example, you might include a Religious contribution from Kush, a political contribution from Ghana, an intellectual contribution from Ghana, a technological contribution from Mali and an economical contribution from Kush
*You will name the contribution, pick a symbol to represent that contribution, tell the SPRITE category and civilization of the contribution and include a 1 sentence description of the contribution.

3.Last, you need to put the symbols for the 5 contributions onto the map, in their corresponding civilization. Take a look at the attached example to see how this is done.

Part 3-Response Question:
Then, you will use the information you gathered, along with the knowledge you learned from this unit to answer this response question (also listed on the worksheet) in 2-3 sentences:

In your opinion, which contribution has been the most influential over time? Pick one contribution (from either Ancient Asia or Ancient Africa) that you feel has been the most influential over time. Give one reason to support your opinion. You will submit the map project as your assignment to be graded.

Explanation: 1. Before Buddhism spread in China, there were indigenous Confucianism and Taoism in that land. However, Confucianism could not be regarded as a religion in its true sense, and the influence of Taoism was rather limited.

2. They are all ether part of India or China or they all fell and came back with a new name. For example, China broke 4-5 time and India broke 2-3 every time with a different name/like the Guptas Empires or the Tamal Kings.

3.The way people interact with each other, and the types of relationship they form, depends greatly on the dominant cultural belief systems. Many Asian religious and philosophical traditions originated in India and China and spread across Asia through cultural diffusion and the migration of peoples.
