Camouflage is defined as use of any combination of materials, coloration, or illumination for concealment, either by making animals or objects hard to see, or by disguising them as something else.

The white foxes are able to survive longer in the winter because they can camouflage, during that time they are most likely to reproduce and create more white foxes with the same traits. The brown and grey foxes had a harder time to adapt in the newer environments and started dying out.
