The triangles below each have a vertical leg, a horizontal leg, and a portion of the same line as a hypotenuse.

Part A: Explain how you know that the triangles are similar.

Part B: Use each triangle to determine the slope of the line. Explain why you would expect to get the same slope. Be sure to show your work and explain your reasoning.

Respuesta :

The triangles are similar be the following conclusions

What is similarity?

Two objects are similar if they have the same shape, or one has the same shape as the mirror image of the other

The ratio of the smaller triangle to bigger is

3/6=1/2

2/4= 1/2

3/6 = 1/2

Hence, all the ratio of the corresponding side of both the triangle is same, the by SSS similarity criteria triangles are similar.

slope=  rise/run

       = 3/2

Also, slope= rise/ run

                  = 6/4= 3/2

As, from both triangles we get the same slope because both are similar.
