Out of process of elimination option D is the valid option. Indeed the United States did improve its global standing it had on the world after the end of world war 2 with the creation of NATO and its overseas Allie’s around the world. The Soviet Union in fact did face economic and political ruin after world war 2 due to the fact almost all of the Soviet union’s European land was attacked by Germany and its Allie’s during operation Barbarossa and many industrial sites and factories were destroyed.
