Carl Dean Switzer (August 8, 1927[1] – January 21, 1959) was a singer, child actor, dog breeder, and guide from the United States. He was well recognized for his role as Alfalfa in the Our Gang short subjects series.

Switzer began his career as a child actor in the mid-1930s, acting as Alfalfa, one of the series' most famous and well-remembered characters, in the Our Gang short subjects series. Switzer failed to obtain significant parts after leaving the series in 1940 due to typecasting. As an adult, he mostly acted in supporting roles and B-movies. He went on to work as a dog breeder and hunting guide.

Switzer married in 1954 and had one son with her before divorcing her in 1957. In an argument about money, he was fatally shot by an associate.
