The two consequences of US involvement in WW1 were
1. The Central Powers' morale suffered as a result of having to contend with the world's most potent economy.
2. The Second Battle of Marne, in which the Americans participated and helped defeat Germany, put an end to their final effort to achieve victory in WW1 (Ludendorff Offensive)

They basically ruin Germany and are aware that they will lose. Germany signed the armistice (a sort of declaration of defeat) on November 11, 1918, as a result of America's involvement in the war ruining their chances of victory.
What led to US involvement in WW1:
Stricken Lusitania (and other ships)
1. On May 7, 1915, Germans attacked and sank the Lusitania. 128 Americans were killed.
2. On May 1st, 1915, the Germans sank the American tanker gun flight, killing 3 Americans on board.
3. In September 1915, the Germans decided to halt all open hostilities, and America agreed to avoid war.
