The Commitment to Development Index (CDI) is published annually by the Center for Global Development.
It ranks the world's richest countries on their dedication to policies by which billions of people living in poorer nations are benefitted.
CDI measures the development-friendliness of 40 of the world's richest countries.
The CDI also assesses national efforts made by the countries in different policy areas including trade, aid, investment, environment, migration, technology and security. The Index penalizes countries which pollute the Earth too.
