During the age of struggle and nationalism in India, independence was a long lost dream which Indians still wanted to see. Freedom fighters went through excruciating trouble and miseries to fight for the independence that we have today. The tension during that era was as bad as burning lava. People like Bhagat Singh lost their lives to fight for swaraj. After a heart wrenching struggle of years India finally got independent from the British colonial rule on 15th August 1947. This year we completed 75 years of independence and being the largest Democracy of the world. Our honorable Prime Minister also launched a scheme of 'Har Ghar Tiranga' as the azadi ka amrit mohotsav. I am extremely grateful to all the people who have contributed in achieving the freedom that we have right now. We have survived far more struggles as a country than we are facing now. My family also put up a small tricolor flag in our balcony to participate in the campaign by our prime minister. We as a country still have a lot to achieve but we are slowly progressing as a nation and advancing in all fields. Independence is in our hands and we have to make sure to apply the concept of independence to fight the struggles of society and become a developed nation now. I am proud to be a citizen of India.
