In It's our world, Tool: Young People Who Are Making a Difference? a dozen or so case studies highlight young people of both sexes and from a variety of ethnic backgrounds who had the guts to follow their convictions. Among them is Joel Rubin, 15, who led a boy's movement against drift net fishing at age 12, and Norvell Smith, 12, who defied gang pressure at her inner-city school by refusing to play along.
