In the photoelectric effect experiment, current flows when the light frequency is greater than the threshold frequency .
The experiments showed that increasing the light frequency increased the kinetic energy of the photon electrons , and increasing the light amplitude increased the current .To explain black body radiation Max Planck describes light as discrete energy packets called photons. The energy of each photon is directly proportional to the frequency of light.
