If pepsin, starch and ph 2 are added to a test tube and allowed to run until expected completion of the digestive process, the result of the iki (lugols) test will indicate if the starch is completely digested or not.
Lugol's solution consist of potassium iodide in the solution of iodine. It is used to detect the presence of starch in a solution. It is brown or yellow in color but when the starch is added it reacts with the starch to form a deep blue complex.
In the given situation the solution will be initially blue in color as the solution have starch present it in. After digestion starch is converted into glucose which do not show the same coloration. Hence the solution will become brown or yellow at the end when digestion is completed.
