Located in the northwest of South America, the territory of Ecuador borders Colombia (to the north), Peru (to the south and east) and the Pacific Ocean (to the west).
Its name originates from the imaginary line that divides the planet into two hemispheres and that crosses the country in all its dimensions. In Ecuador, lines don’t always exist. At first, this can be exhausting. Ecuadorians also don’t have as many qualms touching or pushing one another when in line. It’s something that, while perhaps annoying at first, you may miss when you return to your home country.
