For a reaction at a given T,the rate increases by decrease in Ea .
The relation between rate constant and activation energy ( which is denoted by Ea ) is given as ,
K = A [tex]e^{-Ea/RT}[/tex]
K = A / [tex]e^{Ea/RT}[/tex]
On increasing value of Ea that is activation energy the value of [tex]e^{Ea/RT}[/tex] is increases . Hence , value of rate constant decreases because rate constant is inversely proportional to the [tex]e^{Ea/RT}[/tex] . Since rate constant is directly proportional to the rate of the reaction .
Therefore , overall we can say that the rate is increases on decreasing Ea or activation energy .
