In a concentration cell, the more concentrated electrolyte lies in the cathode compartment.

When the anode is oxidized in the concentration cell, the complete reaction takes place while at the same time the cathode gets reduced in the concentration cell.

Also, when the anode has oxidized in the concentration cell, the concentration of the electrolytes increases in the solution.

Whereas when the cathode is reduced in the concentration cell, the concentration of the electrolyte in the solution decreases.

Therefore, the cathode is the one with more concentrated electrolytes, as the electrolytes get reduced to the complete reaction whereas the anode is not.
