The three stages of information processing in animals include sensory reception, an integrating center, and effectors (motor neurons).
An animal tends to respond to a stimulus through an effective information processing system of the body.
First of all, the sensory organs will detect a change in the environment or stimulus.
The neurons will carry a message to the Central Nervous System which will be involved in the integration process. It is the responsibility of the central nervous system to process the detected change in the external stimuli and formulate an effective response.
The brain will then send the message through the motor neurons for the effect or response that needs to be carried out as a result of the stimuli.
