The first ancient culture that focused on natural and physiological explanations for psychology disorders were the Greek and Egyptians.

The word psychology is formed by combining the two Greek words psyche and logia which means soul and world respectively. Throughout the history, the Greeks had extreme curiosity towards the human life and regarded a person's soul as the ultimate consciousness of life. The great philosophers like Aristotle gave many theories to describe the human behavior and mixed psychology with the philosophy of mind.

The modern psychology flourished in Egypt and spread to all the western and Arab countries. Also, the first modern psychology university was established in Egypt and the first lecture about it was also delivered in there itself.
