'Most empires, wars, and human endeavors can be explained by economics. This is totally true and there are various instances to prove it.
The American civil war was fought not because it just wanted freedom but the southern states wanted to keep using cheap slave labor, it was economics. Measures such as life expectancy, income per capita, child mortality we can show that majority of humans that have ever lived had terrible lives. It was until the industrial revolution that people saw sustained growth and increase in their standard of living.
Wealth is the subject of economics. However, the focus of this study is on man and his normal daily activities. So it makes sense that history and economics would be related. The state of the economy has a significant impact on how history develops.
If a nation could reach a certain level of civilization during a given period, it must have been due to advantageous economic circumstances in one or more nations during those times. We are also believed that certain civilizations in history only experienced liquidation due to economic factors.
