What is fusion welding process?
By heating two or more materials to their melting points, fusion welding employs heat to combine or fuse the materials together. The use of a filler material may or may not be necessary during the procedure. Fusion welding procedures do not require the application of external pressure, with the exception of resistance welding, where sound joining requires high contact pressure during welding.

According to the source of the heat, fusion welding processes can be divided into four categories: electric arc, gas, electrical resistance, and high energy.
