Alvin and his dog were walking home from the park that is 9 blocks from Alvin's house. They walked 2 blocks in 3 minutes before Alvin realized he left his dog's tennis ball at the park. They ran back to the park in 2 minutes. Alvin stopped to talk with Desiree and her dog for 4 minutes before heading back home. They strolled all the way home and made it back after 8 minutes.
