Suppose you have two minerals that have the same hardness. Which other mineral properties would you use to determine wether the samples are the same mineral?
If you know the atomic number of either of the minerals that would help too. It it is a salt, you can burn it and if they are the same colour they are the same, but different colours... well they would be different.
