What was Whitehall Study?

Over 17,500 male civil workers between the ages of 20 and 64 were investigated in the first prospective cohort research, the Whitehall I Study, which was carried out over a ten-year period starting in 1967.
10,308 white-collar British employees in the civil service are participating in the continuing prospective cohort research known as The Whitehall II (Marmot et al., 1991).
