The cycle on a T-s diagram relative to saturation lines, and determine the quality at the beginning of the heat-absorption process.
What is heat-absorption ?
- A form of energy is heat. Heat changes the state of a substance by weakening and rupturing the inter-particle bonds (solid to liquid for example). It is NOT necessary for heat to raise the temperature for a phase transition to occur.
- When warm red light is shone on a blue object, for instance, it will absorb the light and become warmer than if the same light were shone on a red object and it would reflect it.
- Stone, cast iron, and aluminum are examples of what are known as "sensitive heat materials," which noticeably heat up when they absorb heat. Our senses instantly inform us of this.
