The cerebral hemisphere is divided into two parts the median longitudinal fissure - the right and the left hemisphere.
The two hemispheres are connected by the corpus callosum.
Structurally the two hemispheres are similar however functionally the two hemispheres differ fro meach other owing to the presence of different neuronal networks present in them.
Therefore, there is a tendency for each of the two hemispheres to control different functions of the brain and this tendency is called lateralization of brain function.
