The confederacy did not want to enlist any African America soldiers because they were seen as lesser to White people. The Union enlisted African Americans because they wanted to fight, and it would help end the war faster since they had more resources than the confederacy. However, African Americans were still seen as lesser by the Union also

The confederacy did not want to recruit the blacks to fight in the ar because they felt that they were lesser people and they did not have what it takes.

The Union army on the other hand wanted to win the war facter, they had their doun=bts about the blacks but still recruited them.
