When you are asked to find the answer of an equation with a variable, you just need to isolate the variable, which is m in this case. First, you need to subtract 6 from both sides to get m/4=-3. The, you need to multiply both sides by 4 to get m=-12 which is the final answer.
If I got well it's
[tex] \frac{m}{4} [/tex]+6 = 3
[tex] \frac{m+24}{4} = \frac{12}{4} [/tex] (then multiply for 4 both fractions, to remove the denominator)
m+24 = 12
m = 12-24
m = -12
[tex] \frac{m}{4} [/tex]+6 = 3
[tex] \frac{m+24}{4} = \frac{12}{4} [/tex] (then multiply for 4 both fractions, to remove the denominator)
m+24 = 12
m = 12-24
m = -12
