Because there are so many nutrients in each food, so different enzymes are needed to break down different kinds of nutrients. Some foods are acidic in nature and some are basic in nature.

So your gonna need more than one enzyme. :p

Animals possess distinct enzymes for digestion to dissociate several nutrients like fats, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, and proteins.

• One of the essential phenomenon for the animals to possess the tendency to captivate nutrients from food and eradicate the additional waste from the body is known as digestion.

• There are two kinds of digestion mechanical and chemical.

• The different kinds of digestive enzymes present in the body of an animal are amylase, protease, nuclease, and lipase.

• The amylase dissociate carbohydrates and starches into sugars.

• The protease dissociates proteins into amino acids.

• The nuclease dissociate nucleic acid into nucleotides.

• The lipase dissociates lipids into fatty acids and glycerol.
