if your simplifying it it would be

-y - 1/y
[tex] \frac{y+4}{y+7} - \frac{2y+5}{y+7} [/tex]
Just like in regular fractions, since they have a common denominator, you can subtract straight across the top.
[tex] \frac{y+4-(2y+5)}{y+7} [/tex]
Distribute the negative across the parentheses.
[tex] \frac{y+4-2y-5}{y+7} [/tex]
Combine common factors
[tex] \frac{-y-1}{y+7} [/tex] is your final answer
