At sunrise, the temperature was 1.6°C. During the day, the temperature rose 4.2°C and then fell 7.6°C. What was the final temperature? I can't seem to figure it out. Can someone please help?

1.6 plus 4.2 is 5.8 then it fell 7.6 so 5.8-7.8 = -2°C

The day started at 1.6.  It rose 4.2 so it was 5.8.  Then it fell 7.6 so it was -1.8 degrees C.
